Overview

Bushel Fulfillment is a solution that streamlines the management of scale ticket information for direct ship and commercial grain transactions. The platform receives scale ticket information from grain buyers and generates CSV files for convenient uploading to accounting systems. In this project, I have focused on the work I did on grade factor threshold notifications.

My Role

On this project, I collaborated with internal team members, including a UX researcher, front-end and back-end developers, and project managers.

Goals

• Set specific thresholds for each chosen commodity based on location.

• Receive notifications when grade factors, which are set on commodities, fall outside of specified thresholds.

• Edit, delete, and filter lists of thresholds and recipients who receive notifications.

• Create new thresholds and assign them to specific locations.

Discovery

During the discovery phase of the Bushel Fulfillment project, I worked closely with our UX researcher who conducted interviews and comparative analysis to understand the challenges farmers face in managing scale ticket information. We created multiple prototypes and tested them to address user pain points and streamline processes. Using this valuable information, I conducted thorough usability tests to ensure that the design effectively met the needs of the users.

Solution

The development of the grade factor threshold notifications feature for the Bushel Fulfillment project allows users to set specific thresholds for commodities based on location and receive notifications when grade factors fall outside of these thresholds. The intuitive interface enables users to manage thresholds and recipients, while collaboration with various stakeholders and user testing helped address user pain points. The solution enhances efficiency, accuracy, and user experience, optimizing supply chain management.

Conclusion & Impact

Bushel Fulfillment has made significant progress, delivering impressive results. Users save time and improve accuracy in their accounting processes. The tool transfers grain buyer information to accounting systems, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing errors. Merchandisers benefit from faster error resolution and improved transaction logging with timely scale ticket information, enhancing operations. Locational managers receive timely and accurate information, reducing transaction errors and streamlining processes. These accomplishments show the real impact of Bushel Fulfillment in optimizing supply chain management and empowering users to make knowledgeable merchandising decisions.
